MEMBERSHIP

 

The Charities Internal Audit Network (CIAN) is dedicated to developing excellence in this field and providing the opportunity to share skills and experience through networking, meetings, workshops and training.

 

Membership of CIAN is free and available to anyone who is employed in the voluntary sector as an internal auditor, or who has responsibility for internal control or risk management within their charity or not for profit organisation, and is interested in furthering the objects of CIAN. Acceptance of ordinary membership is subject to approval of the Executive Committee.

 

Membership benefits include:

·        Quarterly meetings at which expert speakers talk on selected subjects. This is followed by a group discussion and informal networking session.

 

·        Workshops where smaller groups explore topics in greater depth; for example, risk management, audit of charity shops, the application of the Turnbull report.

 

·        A network directory, listing all members and the key details of the charities they work in. This enables members to contact one another and share experience and expertise on matters of mutual interest.

 

·        Access to the members’ area of the website which includes discussion forums to enable networking amongst members

 

·        Free access to CharitySkills resources

 

·        Access to the CIAN library of relevant papers and publications
